Madison, WI – Two leading-edge product design and development consulting firms from Madison, with more than 75 years of combined experience, announced today they will officially rebrand themselves as Bjorksten | bit 7.

Bjorksten | bit 7 partners with national and international clients to create, test and release new products across global markets. Under the new Bjorksten | bit 7 brand, clients will experience expanded resources in the areas of User Research, Science Research and Engineering. The key to the company’s success is a diverse mix of technical, scientific, design, and engineering talent. It also offers a comprehensive test facility and the flexibility of on- and off-site consulting.

Bjorksten’s history dates back to 1948, when Dr. Johan Bjorksten founded Bjorksten Research Laboratories in Madison. Bit 7 started in Chicago in 1987 to help clients create electronics products, and in 1992, Bit 7 opened the Madison office. The Madison companies formally merged in 2000 but continued to operate under separate names. The new brand encompasses both the new services and those offered under the previous Bit 7 and Bjorksten names.

We’ve always focused on providing the best design and engineering offerings to our clients, said President James Frater. As our clients’ needs evolve, our services will evolve too. Bjorksten | bit 7 will continue to offer the best development capabilities - and a variety of new ones - helping us to bridge the critical client continuum between strategic innovation and product introduction. The Bjorksten | bit 7 headquarters will remain in its current Madison location, and the company will continue to work with all of its current clients nationwide. Bjorksten will continue to partner with the Bit 7 office in Chicago, and the client relationships will not be affected.

Bjorksten | bit 7 remains committed to its client-first approach, said Frater. This change allows us to partner with our clients to develop successful, profitable products, from the idea conception stage all the way to the implementation.
