Frequently Asked Questions
Is Zen2 some kind of religion?
No. The rich tradition of Zen has our profound respect, but is not involved with our method. We selected the term Zen2 because it requires reflection, and provides deeper understanding. Also the name is a tip of the hat to the "N2" diagramming method used by engineers.
Do you pronounce it Zen-two or Zen-squared?
Zen-two.
What is the Zen2 Matrix?
A tool to identify and manage "relationships" between component parts of virtually any system or thing. If you're a project manager developing a new device, you could use the Matrix to help identify how each component interacts with other components. You could also use it to analyze and manage relationships between members of a group of people.
Is Zen2 difficult to learn?
Basic Zen2 principles and skills can be learned in a day, but take practice to become second nature. More advanced Zen2 skills can be acquired in a 2-day mastery workshop. We are committed to providing an expanding body of examples, case studies, webinars and courses that help people use Zen2 in ways relevant to them.
Where can I go for help if I have questions later on?
We like getting questions from users, and do our best to help them apply the learning. We promote peer networks, and provide graduates access to our library of reference and learning materials.
Is Zen2 a management fad?
The difference between passing fad and lasting practice is manifest in 3 dimensions: depth, breadth, and practical usefulness. Zen2 functions at a very fundamental level, and easily passes the depth and breadth tests. Zen2 logic is not only genuinely useful in everyday tasks, it also offers power to deal with an increasingly complex world.
What future class opportunities will be available?
Introductory events are offered many times throughout the year, and Mastery events are offered at least quarterly. The schedule is demand-driven and we will add sessions when and where a need is expressed. If you wish to see a course conducted in your area, please contact us. We also can visit your company if you have a group who you believe will benefit from the course.
